Summary
Both the morning and the afternoon sessions were delightful, refreshing, and wave filled. Zuma was OK, Latigo was pretty delicious. The whole late-afternoon low tide worked out pretty well, giving the waves a surprising amount of push even when there wasn't a whole lot of swell in the water.
Waves
Morning was waist-chest high on the sets, pretty quick and powerful. The afternoon was chest-shoulder high on sets, a bit more consistent, a fair amount bumpier and cooler.
Crowds
Not at either. There were a few out at Zuma in the morn (no alarm so I didn't go out too early) but not crowded. A handful at Latigo as well, but certainly no more than half a dozen.
Weather
Sunny, warm, both morning and afternoon. There were some pretty stiff W/WSW winds in the afternoon, so Latigo was working but not as clean as I was hoping/expecting.
Forecast
Tomorrow looks vicious. After that we'll see, next week should be pretty fun overall though---at least waist high every day through the weekend. I'm hopeful.
Eventful Stuff
Zombieland...hilarious.
Wave of the Day
No "awesome Latigo waves" but some sweet little rides. A few turns, bottom turns, (slowish) cutbacks, wraps, very workable (and lovable) waves...pretty darn sweet for an afternoon surf!
